Dallas invites residents to celebrate at the second annual 214 Day gathering at City Hall
Dallas, Texas – Dallas residents will soon have an opportunity to come together for a lively celebration that highlights the city’s creativity, culture, and strong sense of community. The Office of Arts and Culture is inviting the public to attend a free citywide gathering titled “214 Day: Show Love for Dallas,” an event designed to showcase civic pride and the artistic energy that defines the city.
The celebration is scheduled to take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, inside the first-floor lobby of Dallas City Hall. During the event, elected officials, appointed leaders, and city executives are expected to share remarks that reflect on what makes Dallas a place so many people proudly call home.
“We so are thrilled to celebrate our 2nd annual 214 Day at City Hall, amplifying the vibrant fabric of our Dallas community,” said Office of Arts and Culture Director, Martine Elyse Philippe. “214 Day invites us to share our love and pride for our City.”
Performances, art, and community connection
The celebration will feature a variety of live performances and artistic presentations intended to energize attendees and reflect the diverse cultural life of Dallas. Master of Ceremony DJ Elkin will open the program, followed by a performance from Poet Laureate Dr. Mag Gabbert. Guests will also be treated to appearances by Pegasus Contemporary Ballet and the high-energy Mavs ManiACCs. In addition, artist Kenya Diaz will lead an interactive workshop, giving attendees a chance to participate directly in the creative experience.
Organizers say the event is meant to foster connection and community pride while showcasing artistic expression that is uniquely Dallas. Participants will be able to meet neighbors, share stories, and celebrate the cultural richness that shapes daily life in the city.
One of the most meaningful highlights of the event will be the unveiling of a community quilt, described as a collective masterpiece symbolizing unity and the unique voices that make up Dallas’ diverse population. Attendees will also have the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative art activity celebrating #DallasCulture and shared civic pride.
Food will also be part of the festivities. Free offerings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from well-known Dallas eateries, including Smoky Joe’s BBQ and Egg Stand. To add a festive touch, special 214 Day doughnuts from Voodoo Doughnut will be provided to the first 100 attendees.
City leaders hope the gathering will strengthen connections and celebrate the shared identity of Dallas residents. Through art, performances, and community participation, the event aims to highlight the spirit of unity and creativity that continues to define the city.
