High-speed chase in Mesquite leads to arrest after Dallas crash

Dallas, Texas – In the early hours of Saturday morning, a dramatic scene unfolded, starting in Mesquite and culminating in a crash in Dallas. The incident began around 2 a.m., when a Mesquite PD officer attempted to halt what was believed to be a stolen car. However, instead of complying, the driver spurred a high-speed chase.

The pursuit was fraught with danger as the driver recklessly went the wrong way on several roads. This hazardous maneuvering led to an inevitable crash near the intersection of Gaston Avenue and N. Beacon Street in the Old East Dallas area. The impact of the chase was significant, causing the roadway to be closed for approximately an hour while police conducted their investigation.

Amidst this chaos, a passenger was found in the car. They were initially detained by the police but were later released. As for the driver, their identity remains undisclosed, but they were arrested following the incident.
