Texas Department of Transportation announces completion of key Arlington interchange
Arlington, Texas – After enduring years of traffic congestion due to construction, residents of North Texas can finally look forward to a smoother drive along the I-30 and State Highway 360 Interchange in Arlington. This key stretch of highway, located between Grand Prairie and Arlington’s entertainment district, which includes attractions like Six Flags and the Cowboys Stadium, has been a focal point of extensive roadway improvements.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TXDoT) has announced a significant milestone in this infrastructure project. The last two on-ramps, part of the eight ramps in the interchange, were opened to the public on Thursday. This completion marks a major advancement in the project, which has been a work in progress for some time.
TXDoT officials stated, “The project is now substantially complete, and construction on smaller items will continue through early next year.” This news comes as a relief to many motorists who have navigated through the construction-induced gridlock over the years.
The interchange, which was originally a cloverleaf design constructed in the 1950s, has been transformed into a modern four-way interchange with ramps connecting all directions. This upgrade is expected to significantly improve safety, connectivity, and mobility for drivers in the area.
While the majority of the construction is complete, TXDoT urges drivers to remain cautious and alert for ongoing construction activities in the area. These smaller construction items are slated for completion in the early part of the next year, paving the way for an entirely revamped and efficient driving experience at this crucial interchange.
