Toys R Us returns to North Texas with a new store
Dallas, Texas – Toys R Us, the iconic toy retailer, is marking its resurgence with a new store in North Texas, bringing joy to families and travelers just in time for the holiday season.
A New Beginning at DFW Airport
In a novel move, the company inaugurated its brick-and-mortar location over the weekend inside the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, near Gate A-28. This new venture is more than just a toy store; it offers an engaging experience for visitors. The store is equipped with the latest toys and games, alongside demonstration tables for hands-on play, enhancing the shopping experience. A notable attraction is the life-sized statue of Geoffrey the Giraffe, the beloved mascot of Toys R Us, which is sure to be a hit with young visitors.
The store’s unique location within the airport, in partnership with Duty Free Americas, marks the first initiative of its kind in the country. Jerome Falic, CEO of Duty Free Americas, expressed his confidence in the store’s potential, stating earlier this year, “Toys R Us is a globally recognized brand beloved by millions of families, and we are confident that the store at DFW will become a must-visit destination for travelers.”
Revival After Bankruptcy
This opening signifies a significant step in the comeback journey of Toys R Us, which filed for bankruptcy in 2017. Since then, the company has been steadily regaining its footing, opening several shops within Macy’s stores across North Texas and other parts of the country. This resurgence reflects the enduring appeal of the Toys R Us brand and its ability to adapt and reinvent itself in the changing retail landscape.
The company’s CEO has further fueled excitement by announcing that more brick-and-mortar stores are on the horizon. This expansion strategy indicates a promising future for Toys R Us, as it continues to reestablish its presence in the physical retail space.
