Two-vehicle accident in Richardson leaves Dallas woman dead, one injured

Richardson, Texas – The Richardson Police Department is currently investigating a tragic car accident that occurred on December 6, 2023, resulting in a fatality. The collision happened around 8:00 p.m. in the 3800 block of N. Central Expressway, involving a Toyota Sequoia and a Nissan Versa.

According to the police report, the Toyota Sequoia was traveling northbound when it shifted lanes and struck the rear of the Nissan Versa, which was in the left lane. Investigators are looking into the possibility that the Nissan might have been stationary or moving slowly at the time of the collision, which could have been a contributing factor in the crash.

The driver of the Nissan, 74-year-old Miriam Mazhindu from Dallas, Texas, suffered critical injuries and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Tragically, she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The driver of the Toyota Sequoia also sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. They are expected to make a recovery.
